Beyond The Rom Com 1

Week One:

After the Movie Ends

Day 2:

Love in the Face of Conflict

When conflicts arise, our natural instinct is often to retreat, to protect ourselves, to build walls. We might justify our distance by saying we need space or time to process. While these aren’t inherently wrong, they can become excuses that prevent us from practicing real love. True love doesn’t run from conflict – it steps into it with grace and courage. This doesn’t mean we ignore problems or pretend everything is fine. Instead, it means we choose to engage with difficult situations while maintaining our commitment to love.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

– Romans 5:8

Reflection Question

What conflict are you currently avoiding that needs to be addressed with love rather than fear?

From the Sermon

Love steps into the fight and it says, yes, There’s a fight. Yes. There are real issues that have to be worked out. Yes. We need to talk through some things. Yes. I’m mad at you about this, but I choose love.

Prayer

Lord, give me the courage to face conflicts with love rather than fear. Help me remember that You loved me even in my most unlovable moments. Grant me wisdom to engage in difficult situations with grace. Amen.
