Beyond The Rom Com 1

Week One:

After the Movie Ends

Day Three:

The Power of Forgiveness

One of the most challenging aspects of love is letting go of past hurts. Our human nature wants to keep score, to maintain a mental record of every wrong we’ve endured. But true love calls us to something higher – a love that releases the grip on past offenses and chooses to move forward in freedom. This doesn’t mean forgetting or pretending hurts never happened. Rather, it means choosing not to let those hurts define our relationships or dictate our future actions.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” – Proverbs 3:5

Reflection Question

What past hurts are you still holding onto that God is asking you to release through forgiveness?

From the Sermon

I have never once in all the 20 years of marriage had my wife throw a list, a laundry list of things that I did wrong in the past into my face.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me release the burden of past hurts. Give me the strength to forgive as You have forgiven me. Transform my heart to keep no record of wrongs. Amen.
