Leader Hints are designed to help guide a leader to some information that we want to “tease” out of the group. They are not there for you to directly read to the participants. People are significantly more likely to remember things they said or came up with, so your goal is to help direct them to that answer.
FINAL NOTE: Our goal is to get to the [APPLICATION QUESTION] to help work with people through how to apply what God is doing in their life.
INTRO:
- Icebreaker: What do you think your love language is?
REBUILD THE SERMON:
- How do small daily annoyances, like changing the TV channel frequently or leaving dirty laundry around, affect the overall harmony in a marriage?
- In what ways can marriage be both a source of frustration and a source of joy?
- According to Ephesians 5:33, what are the key elements that Paul emphasizes for a successful marriage?
- How does the concept of “Love and Respect” differ for men and women in a marital relationship?
- Can you share an experience where you tried to show love to someone in the way you wanted to be loved, but it didn’t meet their needs or expectations? How did that affect your relationship?
- How does giving what we want instead of what the other person needs impact our relationships?
- What does it mean for husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church, based on Ephesians 5:25-31?
- How did Jesus show unselfish, undivided, and unstoppable love to the church?
- How can men show unselfish, undivided, and unstoppable love to their wives in practical terms?
Application Question:
- Reflect on your own marriage or a close relationship. What specific actions can you take this week to either show more love (for men) or respect (for women) to your spouse? How will you ensure these actions are consistent and meaningful?
- Take up prayer requests and pray together.
