Leader Hints are designed to help guide a leader to some information that we want to “tease” out of the group.  They are not there for you to directly read to the participants.  People are significantly more likely to remember things they said or came up with, so your goal is to help direct them to that answer.

FINAL NOTE:  Our goal is to get to the [APPLICATION QUESTION] to help work with people through how to apply what God is doing in their life.

    INTRO:

    • Icebreaker: What did you and your family do over spring break?

    REBUILD THE SERMON:

    • Opening Illustration: Have you ever experienced a moment that made you question your beliefs or values? What was that experience like?
    • Life’s Unexpected Challenges: How do you cope when life throws unexpected challenges your way, such as a broken marriage or job loss?
    • Jesus’ Final Hours: What stands out to you about Jesus’ actions and emotions during His final hours in the Garden of Gethsemane?
    • Jesus’ Prayer: How does Jesus’ prayer in Mark 14:34-35 reflect His humanity and divinity? What can we learn from His example?
    • Disciples’ Response: Why do you think the disciples fell asleep despite Jesus’ request to stay awake and pray? How does this reflect our own struggles with spiritual vigilance?
    • Mark’s Perspective: What significance do you find in the possibility that Mark was an eyewitness to Jesus’ prayer in the garden? How does this perspective add depth to the story?
    • Jesus’ Submission: How does Jesus’ willingness to submit to God’s will, despite His suffering, challenge our own approach to difficult situations?
    • God’s Understanding: How does knowing that Jesus understands our suffering and pain impact your relationship with Him?

    Application Question:

    • How can you apply the lesson of Jesus’ submission to God’s will in your own life? What steps can you take to trust and follow God’s plan, even in the midst of suffering and uncertainty?
    • Take up prayer requests and pray together.
