Leader Hints are designed to help guide a leader to some information that we want to “tease” out of the group. They are not there for you to directly read to the participants. People are significantly more likely to remember things they said or came up with, so your goal is to help direct them to that answer.
FINAL NOTE: Our goal is to get to the [APPLICATION QUESTION] to help work with people through how to apply what God is doing in their life.
INTRO:
- Icebreaker: What is your favorite Rom-Com?
REBUILD THE SERMON:
- Read Song of Songs 4:1-7 (men) and 5:10-16 (women) .
- At the end Kent said, “Living in a relationship that is full of (blank) is the most powerful thing I’ve ever experienced.” What were those 3 things?
- Leader Hint: trust, love, and deep care. This discussion is building to how we do that.
- Reflecting on the opening illustration, how have your experiences with relationships and expressions of love shaped your understanding of romantic relationships?
- What are 3 things we can learn from Song of Solomon?
- Leader Hint: You can give your group a hint by reading below and having them fill in the blank.
- Protecting your relationship by guarding your heart
- Inviting Passion into your relationship and pursue each other with romance
- Commitment: “You’re the only one for me”
- What practical steps can you take to guard your heart and safeguard your marriage from external influences that may threaten its intimacy?
- How can you make it a habit to show your spouse that you appreciate and admire them, like how the husband in the Song of Songs compliments his wife’s beauty?
- How can you cultivate romance in your relationship, drawing inspiration from the love found in the Song of Songs?
- How can you strengthen your commitment to only your spouse and show them more love, like the couple in the Song of Songs who only had eyes for each other?
- How can you foster open communication with your spouse about your needs, desires, and boundaries?
Application Question:
- We’ve talked about Guarding your heart, Appreciation, Romance, Commitment, and Communication. Which of these do you need to focus on this week to deepen your relationship and how can you practically do that?
- Take up prayer requests and pray together.
