- What kind of person is a good fit for this ministry? What will I do with the student I would mentor?

- What are some ways you are seeing this ministry make a difference?
- What would you say to someone who is on the fence about making a commitment to becoming a mentor?
OPENING ILLUSTRATION: This morning we are going to watch a scene from the tv show “The Chosen” from John 4…[Watch the Chosen – the Woman @ the Well –
John 4:28-30 & 39 28 Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, 29 “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” 30 They came out of the town and made their way toward him.
39 Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.”
I think most of us, when we get the opportunity to share about Jesus are afraid to do it because we are worried we won’t know what to say. but the reality is, you already know what to say because you’ve lived it.
Sharing is as easy as telling your story.
The message of the Samaritan woman was, “come and see a man who told me everything I ever did…”
How about you? What is your story with God?
As you think about your circle of 8God has put you in their life so you can share his love with them…
This is what BLESS is all about. Begin with Prayer. Listen. Eat Together. Serve. Share.
Sharing your story is easy to do – in the front of the Bless journal, there is a simple formula for learning to think through your story.
For me, the story goes like this…
CLOSING ILLUSTRATION: I was in a place where I was trying to find something in my life that filled the void in me. I tried all kinds of stuff and none of it made any long-term difference. It wasn’t till I took the step into following Jesus that everything changed. I couldn’t out-drink or self-medicate enough the hole I felt in my heart. God was the only thing that filled it.
I remember thinking, when will this end… Here’s what I know, it’s never ended. God has been my constant comfort ever since. He restored my life and gave me hope and he can do that for you.
It’s not hard to tell my story because… it’s my story. All I have to do is keep my eyes open for the “Nots” When someone says they’re not doing well, not from around here, or not going to church. These are opportunities to share your story.
What if God wants to give you a story today? What if He wants to do something completely new in your life?—————————
